The Jēkabpils Municipality Museum of Sēlija Skills is located at the core of the village of Zasa, next to the beautiful Zasa Manor park: it was built in the 18th and 19th century, and has not lost its landscape value to this day.

Jēkabpils Municipality Museum of Sēlija Skills offers:

The ‘Sēlija farmers in the past and today’ exhibition showing the most typical 19—20th century craftsman tools, household items, handicrafts, prizes etc. The guide will provide a tour in the legendary and picturesque park of the Zasa Manor. For a more emotionally brilliant experience, and if you book the tour in advance, you can become acquainted with the art of enjoying medicinal teas. The exhibition room of the museum offers its visitors various art and other exhibitions with inspiring content, formats and ideas.

We recommend taking a virtual trip to tourist destinations in Jēkabpils, Ilūkste, Sala and Viesīte Municipalities in Latvia, and Anykščiai, Biržai and Krekenava regional natural parks in Lithuania. There are also informative videos offered at the museum telling the story of such skills and professions typical for Sēlija as bee-keeping, joinery, belt weaving, bread baking, music, rafting, rope laying, carpentry, as well as archaeological features of pottery, with a glimpse at the work of special ferries that helped people cross the Daugava.

The tour will then continue with the renovated Zasa mill, and horse-riding at the Zasa Manor park in the ‘Bērzzemnieki’ farm, and with a visit to the historical cottage that is a part of the Zasa Manor.
